Start with the job your LED display must do
A boardroom presentation, a showroom campaign and a roadside advertisement need different screens. Before comparing LED display prices in Bangladesh, write down who will watch, where they will stand or sit, and what the screen must communicate. A video that looks impressive from across a road may reveal visible pixels when used for a spreadsheet in a meeting room.
List the content that matters most: Bangla notices, product photographs, live camera feeds, presentation slides or multiple monitoring windows. Then identify the smallest text that must remain readable. This makes the buying decision testable instead of relying on a showroom demonstration chosen by the seller.
Indoor or outdoor: choose for the actual location
Indoor LED displays suit controlled spaces such as offices, classrooms and retail interiors. Outdoor screens need a configuration intended for their exposure. A shopfront under a canopy can still receive wind-driven rain, dust or strong afternoon sunlight, so a roof alone does not establish that an indoor module is suitable.
Record direct sunlight, screen orientation, operating hours, ventilation and access for servicing. Ask for the proposed cabinet's front and rear protection specifications, together with the treatment of joints, cable entries and power enclosures. The installation should be assessed as a complete assembly, not only by the protection label on an LED module.
Pixel pitch, native resolution and controller selection
Pixel pitch is the distance between neighbouring LED pixel centres, expressed in millimetres. A smaller pitch places more pixels into the same physical area. Compare sample content from your nearest intended viewing position; do not treat a pitch-to-distance shortcut as a guarantee that fine text will be readable.
Native resolution depends on both pitch and dimensions. For a nominal 4,000 mm wide display, dividing width by a 2.5 mm pitch gives approximately 1,600 horizontal pixels. Cabinet and module increments determine the actual buildable resolution. Accepting a 4K input signal does not make that screen a native 4K display.
Choose processing equipment after the pixel layout is known. Verify total loading capacity, output-port limits, required inputs and the ability to scale your content without distortion. The receiving cards, module scan configuration and controller must work together; a familiar controller brand alone does not prove compatibility.
What an LED display quotation should include
Request an itemised BOQ so competing offers describe the same delivery. A price per square foot is useful only when its inclusions are clear. Ask the supplier to identify anything that the customer must arrange separately.
- Physical dimensions, cabinet layout, pixel pitch and confirmed native resolution.
- Module, receiving card, controller and power supply models, plus quantities.
- Mounting, electrical connections, cable routes and access for module replacement.
- Installation, calibration, content tests, operator training and written warranty boundaries.
Buying mistakes that increase project cost
A cheaper screen can become expensive if essential equipment or labour is excluded. Compare the complete scope and operating workflow before selecting the lowest figure.
- Buying the finest pitch without checking whether the audience or content benefits from it.
- Comparing a module reference price with an installed video-wall quotation.
- Approving the screen using only colourful video instead of your slides and smallest text.
- Leaving replacement modules, configuration backups and support responsibilities undefined.
LED display buying questions
Is P2.5 always better than P3 for an indoor LED wall?
P2.5 provides greater pixel density at the same size, but the benefit depends on viewing distance and content. Test both with representative slides. A larger or better-installed P3 screen may be more useful than an undersized fine-pitch wall for a particular room.
Can an indoor LED display be installed outdoors?
Use a configuration specified for the actual exposure. An indoor module should not be assumed suitable because it sits below a canopy. Weather protection, heat management and the complete enclosure need to be reviewed.
How do I compare two suppliers fairly?
Give both suppliers the same dimensions, content samples, operating schedule and BOQ. Compare exact component models, service access, testing and exclusions, then request a demonstration with your content.
